Ruby "Aline" Stelter, 74, New Leipzig, died September 01, 1999,in the Elgin hospital. Services were held September 04, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, New Leipzig, with the Reverend John Amundson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clarence, Mark and Stanley Stelter, Bill Wutzke, Alvin Nolte and Roland Mutschelknaus.
Aline was born March 10, 1925, in Pineland, South Carolina, to George and Carrie (Griner) Buckner. She attended grade school in Furman, Grays and Garnett, South Carolina. She attended high school in Garnett and Estill, South Carolina. She graduated from Estill High School in May 1943. She worked for Southern Bell Telephone in Walterbora, South Carolina, Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia. On September 02, 1945, she married Christian Stelter at Martin Lutheran Chapel in Savannah. They moved to New Leipzig and farmed until 1951, when they moved into New Leipzig. Over the years she worked at Stelter's Grocery Store and the New Leipzig Hotel and cafe. They later purchased the hotel and cafe which they owned for several years. Aline was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was city assessor for many years. She was also very active with the Meals on Wheels program.
She was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jerome and Kathy, Hettinger, and Russell, New Leipzig; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Daniel Wicklander, Washburn, and Linda and Marcus McQuilken, Anaheim, California; and one sister, Annie Lee Kinard, Estill. She was also the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren, Michael, Kimberly, Jody and Shawn Stelter, Karla and Karen kambeitz, Jennifer and Lindsey Wicklander, Christie Boucher and Mith VanBeek; five great grandchildren, Eric and Kayla Stelter, Amanda Odell, Cory Stelter and Russell Boucher Jr. She is also survived by one niece, Renee Wooten; and one grandniece, Jessica.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; and her husband, Christian Stelter.
