Services For Dr. H. H. Vaughan Monday
Dr. Herbert Hope Vaughan, Sr., 60, for 32 years a practicing physician in Waskom, Texas, died unexpectedly after a heart attack at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at his home. he was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Floyd Vaughan of Jonesville, Texas.
A graduate of Texas university, he won his medical degree from the university's medical school at Galveston in 1911.
Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian church, Waskom, with the Rev. Eugene McLaurin of Austin, Texas, officiating. Burial was in the Concord cemetery at Jonesville.
Active pallbearers were B. C. Hickey, L. H. Love, H. Y. Hinson, Eugene Bell, C. L. Ray and Bill Taylor.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Ellen Childers Vaughan; two sons, Dr. H. H. Vaughan, Jr., Shreveport surgeon; John Robert Lloyd Vaughan, attending Texas university; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas B. Wilson, McKinney, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. N. W. Saunders, Waskom, Texas; Mrs. T. C. Lindsey, Jonesville, Texas; two brothers, E. W. Vaughan, Jonesville and Dr. T. Wayland Vaughan, Washington, D.C., and three grandchildren, Tommie B. and Suzanne Wilson, and Herbert Hope Vaughan, III.
Dr. Vaughan was a first cousin of J. B. Vaughan of Minden.
