Nancy married John Lyle Riggs on April 18, 1846. Within five short years, on June 20, 1851, she became his widow. Three children were born to this marraige; Emily America Riggs, William Thomas Riggs, and Mary Louise Sylvia Riggs. Nancy had three more children, all sons, with second husband, Edward Marvin: John Hyrum Marvin, Morris E. Marvin, and Albinda Marvin.
