MEDINA, Ohio - Jane True Grover Scheel, 83, joined her beloved husband Bob and family members on Feb. 29, 2012.
Jane was born in Athens, Ohio to Brandon and Gladys (Watkins) Grover on Aug. 14, 1928. She graduated from Athens High School where she was a class officer and student body president. Jane attended Ohio University 1946-1950. She was president of Pi Beta Phi sorority and the Pan-Hellenic Council. She was blessed to be born into a fine productive family. Nineteen of her near/extended family were doctors or dentists and many were academics. She traced her ancestry to Richard Warren of the Mayflower and to one or more Barons of England who, with King John of England, helped form the first Magna Carta in 1215. Grover Center on the Campus of Ohio University is named for her father, Brandon Tad Grover Sr. She belonged to a number of Pi Phi Alum Clubs in Illinois and Ohio, the G.I. Chapter of P.E.O. in Bradenton, Fla., and the EX Chapter of P.E.O. in Medina. Jane was a former member of Kings Daughters, University Women, Afternoon Club and the Pickled Beets Domino Club of Medina. She was a member of St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church.
