Jeff lost his 6 month battle with colon cancer on Wednesday, 3/14/2000, in peace surrounded by his family at his home. Jeff was a very devoted father and husband; a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and Texas A&M University(1973) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering; member of Lake Houston United Methodist Church, resident of Huffman area for 16 years; employed by Valero Energy Corp. for 27 years and beloved Little League baseball coach for 10 years. Survived by wife of 20 devoted years, Kathleen Sear McClain; son Jonathan Thomas McClain; special step-daughter Lindsey Lee Landon; parents John and Ruth McClain; sister Landa Ruth and husband Roger Roitsch; nephews August and Charles; niece Eva; including other relatives, Frank, Ann and Gene McClain, Eva Ruth Williams, cousins and host of friends. Funeral service was at 2PM, Thursday March 16, 2000 at Rosewood North Chapel. Private interment was held in Alto, Texas. A special thanks to Linda Hilton, Lan Phan and Dr. Patt of M.D. Anderson. In liew of flowers, the family requested that contributions be made to Lake Houston Methodist Church, Huffman, Texas
