Emma Wiruth Sedlacek, daughter of Martin and Frances Wiruth, was born June 3, 1879 in Republic county, Kansas, and passed away at her home in Cuba, Kan., September 25, at the age of 89 years, 3 months and 22 days.
She was united in marriage with Martin Sedlacek, September 6, 1905. To this union nine children were born, three daughters and six sons. The couple also cared for two nephews, Garland and Rowland Hubka.
She lived much of her life in Washington County, Kansas, and moved to Cuba in April, 1950.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Martin on September 9, 1952, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include her six sons: Henry of Chelsea, Iowa, Victor and Leo of Corvallis, Ore, Ervern of Toledo, Iowa, Vern of Morrowville, and Raymond of Vale, Ore.; three daughter, Laura Ann Abell of Topeka, Mrs. Sylvia (Don) Deegan of Corvallis, Ore., and Vera Graham of Corvallis, Ore; 21 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim of Haddam, and Victor of Skidmore Tex.; and two sisters, Mrs. Helen (Earl) Potter of Washington, Kan., and Mrs. Ella (Charles) Bouska of Haddam.
Memorial services were conducted by the Rev. Fred Mansfield at the United Presbyterian Church in Cuba. Burial was the the National (Kopsa) Cemetery, Cuba.
