Robert C. "Bob" Oliver Jr., 65, of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 12,2014 in Reid Hospital in Richmond after an extended illness.
He was born on Aug. 10,1948 in Winchester to the late Robert C. and Jane F. (Fullerton) Oliver Sr. He was a 1966 graduate of Lee L. Driver High School in Winchester and a 1970 graduate of DePauw University. He later attended IUPUI School of Law, graduated in 1977. Bob practiced law in the family firm, Oliver & Oliver, which was established over 125 years ago in Winchester.
Bob was an active member of the Main St. Christian Church and belonged to the Randolph County Bar Association and Gideons International. He had a passion for riding horses and enjoyed being outdoors cutting wood. He enjoyed going to his daughter's activities, horse shows and cheerleading at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Beverly (Steinhagen) Oliver of Winchester; his daughter, Paige Oliver (boyfriend, Preston Moore) of Scottsdale, AZ; two brother, Fred (Donna) Oliver of Winchester and Tom (Diane) Oliver of Greenville, OH; two sisters, Jane Zell and Kelly (Danny) Riddle, both of Winchester; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 16,2014 at 11 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Pastor Cecil Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Park Cemetery.
Friends and relatives may call from 3-8 p.m. on Wed. at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the services on Thursday.
