Gary L. Starnes, 56, of Stanford, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2003, in Dale, near Huntingburg.
Born June 29, 1947 in Bloomington, he was the son of George and Audrey (Car-Michael) Starnes.
He was founder and a driver with Starnes Trucking Co. of Stanford. He was a member of Burton Woolery Post of the American Legion; Amvets of Bloomington; Vets 2000; Moose Lodge 1081; and Teamsters Local 135. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his companion, Nancy (Sturgeon) Robertson of Stanford; one daughter and son-in-law; Jennifer and Ty Mungle of Bedford; one grandson, Jackson Mahuron of Bedford; one brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Georgia Starnes of Stanford; his mother, Audrey Starnes of Bloomington; six nieces; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Starnes in 1977.
