He attended the North Street School and graduated from North Hagerstown High School. He was a cook at American University in Washington for many years.
He is survived by one sister, Delores Martinez of Hagerstown; seven brothers, Kenneth Moten of Littleton, Colo., Harry Moten of Avenal, Calif., and Richard H. Moten, Michael W. Moten, Larry B. Moten, Franklin L. Moten and Thomas Martinez, all of Hagerstown.
Services were held at Watson's Funeral Home, Hagerstown; burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
