Mrs. Myrtle M. Cunningham
Mrs. Myrtle M. Cunningham of Alexandria, passed away at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home, Altoona, on Thursday forenoon, August 4, 1949, at 9 o'clock. She had been in failing health for a number of years, and had been a patient in the nursing home for 4 months.
She was a daughter of Enoch Lefferd and Caroline (Whittaker) Leffered (sic-Leffard) and was born in Porter Township August 11, 1875, hence she was aged at the time of death 73 years, 11 months and 23 days. She was united in marriage to John Scott Cunningham, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Cunningham was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church of Alexandria and for twenty years was a telephone operator in Alexandria.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Caroline Schuldt of Huntingdon and one sister, Mrs. Retta Davis of Alexandria, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Grove funeral home in Alexandria on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Harold P. Smith of Waynesboro, a former pastor at Alexandria, assisted by the Rev. Kenneth L. Duncan, of the Alexandria Presbyterian Church. Interment will be made in the Presbyterian Cemetery at Alexandria, directed by Grove's funeral service. Friends may call at the funeral home in Alexandria after 7 o'clock this evening.
