Anna Anker married before 1920 to the eighteen years older Samuel Tilstra, who was born in 1879 in the country village Schingen in the northwest of the Dutch northern province Friesland.
In 1920 Anna (22 y, born in Illinois) and her husband Samuel Tilstra (40, Holland) lived at a rented home in the Dutch truck farmers settlement South Holland, just south of Chicago, Thornton Township, Cook County, Illinois. According to the records of this Census 1920 Sam Tilstra immigrated in 1889.

Her husband Samuel Tilstra died in April 1943 in Chicago at the age of 64 years. Annie died in July 1984 at the age of 86 years, probably at her last residence place Palos Heights, a city just southwest of Chicago.
