Funeral services for August Frerichs, 88, of Wall Lake, were held Saturday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Wall Lake, with the Rev. Donald W. Gibson officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Dorothy Willhoite, organist, and Glenn Determann, soloist. Mrs. Glenn Determann, Mrs. Harold Wollesen, and Mrs. Lee Willhoite were in charge of the floral offerings.
Burial was in the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of Farber and Otteman Funeral Home, Wall Lake.
Honorary pallbearers were Arthur Hasch, John Brower, J.J. Jennewein, Frank Tiefenthaler, Jake Schwitters and Arthur Gosch. Active pallbearers were Vernon Peters, Harold Wollesen, Elmer Wollesen, Francis Blum, Charles Dierenfeld and Robert Beisch.
Mr. Frerichs was born December 26, 1889 in Cook Township, Sac County, Iowa, the son of Fred and Sophia Frerichs, and passed away Thursday, March 7 at Buena Vista County Memorial Hospital in Storm Lake.
August was a retired plumber in Wall Lake.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, Wall Lake; one daughter, Norma, Mrs. Elmer Cunningham of Morro Bay, Calif.; one son, Warren Frerichs of Newell; and one granddaughter.
