Ted Travis Herring, age 71, died Friday, January 7, 2011 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on Saturday, May 13, 1939 in Troup, Texas to the late Charley and Bertie Herring. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Mineola, Texas, past president of Disabled American Vets, a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He loved hunting, fishing, BBQing, gardening and reading. He traveled the world as a fiberglass consultant and lived all across the United States before settling down in Mineola to found Plas-Tech Fiberglass.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and a grandchild, Tyler Herring.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Herring; three sons, Bobby Herring and wife Allison of Quitman, Texas, Rodney Herring and wife Lynda of Harlingen, Texas, Jason Herring and wife Jodi of Houston, Texas; three daughters Carri Stokes and husband Ben of Camas, Washington, Kristi Salisbury and Michael Carter of Highland Village, Terri Bowling and husband Matt of Ennis, Texas; one brother Curtis Herring; two sisters Joy Johnson and Dorris Christly and fourteen grandchildren, Kristen Herring, Karen Herring, Morgan Herring, Taylor Herring, Shelby Herring, Brandon Salisbury, Jordan Salisbury, Ashlyn Stokes, Cassidy Hortman, Caleb Hortman, Kaci Bowling, Kori Bowling, Kenzie Bowling, Kylee Bowling.
