J. J. Pennington dies in Hospital
John J. Pennington, 83, city resident since 1906, died Sunday in Mercy hospital, where he had been a patient nine days. Death was attributed to coronary thrombosis.
Pennington came to Oklahoma City from Missouri. Retired for many years he made his home at the Oliver Hotel. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church.
Funeral services will be in Hunter chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with burial in Sunny Lane Cemetery.
He is survived by two sons, John J., Jr., San Antonio, Texas, and G. R., 2023 N. E. 28; a daughter, Mrs. Naomi Russell, NW of the City; a brother, Ezra, east of the city; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

While researching for John Pennington in Carroll Co., Missouri, I came across the below information:

Ridge Township, Carroll Co., Missouri: Atlas of Patrons, 1876
John Pennington, Ridge Township, (No. 54, Range 22), P.O. Ridge, Occupation: Farmer, born Moniteau Co., MO, Moved to Carroll Co. in 1865.

(NOTE: This could be the same John Pennington related to our family but it is not proven. Also, most likely this John is the brother to Thomas Jefferson / Jefferson Pennington)

Pioneer Merchants and Officials of Hale City, Carroll Co., Missouri 1883 (with additional notes from personal knowledge of the compiler) Missouri Cousins

Name was listed among other various names:
John Pennington (once many, now few if any around)

NOTE: This could be this John or John Pennington brother to Thomas Jefferson / Jefferson Pennington. I'm not sure which John it is yet. (Oct. 95 - mgp)
