Robert L. Mabrey. 43, and his daughter Sallie Pearl, 16, of Rockford, Ill. former residents of Clay, were killed instantly when their truck was hit by a Burlington Passenger train at a railroad Crossing.

His WWI Draft Card in Clay noted he had a crippled leg, wife and children.

Mabrey, an ice and coal dealer, was making his regular tce delivery when he and his daughter were killed instantly.
Survived by his widow Lucy Coker Mabrey, and three daughters.

Funeral services were held at the General Baptist Church in Clay by the pastor Rev Charles Polley.
