She was born in Kentucky to Milly (Hancock) and Henry Blevins. She relocated to DeKalb Co., Alabama from Wayne Co., Kentucky about 1849 with her parents. She married three times: 1st to James Chadwick on 21 Oct 1856 in DeKalb Co., Alabama; 2nd to Archiable "Arch" Ashberry on 21 Oct 1873 in DeKalb Co., Alabama; 3rd to John C. Carroll about 1892.
Although no marked tombstone has been found for her father it is believed he died about 1852 and is buried in the Cagle or Deerhead Cove Cemetery in DeKalb County, Alabama. Her mother, Emila "Milly" (Hancock) Blevins was head of a household on the 1870 DeKalb County Census. It is not yet known when she died or where she is buried.
