Parents: Benjamin Franklin Roush (b. 1836 PA; d. 1906) & Mary Ann Matthews (b. 20 Jan. 1840 KY; d. 18 Aug. 1916). They are buried Haven Hill Cemetery, Olney, Richland Co.,
Illinois and both have memorials.

Paternal Grandparents: Henry Roush & Catherine Calvert. Henry, b. ca 1802; d. 8 May 1849 (Gold Rush via Oregon Trail; Henry Roush of Illinois died in 1849 on his way to California; his grave marker was found in Kansas along the trail. A new grave marker is going to be placed at the grave site as the original one is in the Kansas State Historical Museum.)

Catherine Calvert, b. Mar. 1803, Cumberland Co., Penn.; d. 22 May 1867, Richland Co., Ill. Note: All the sons were in the Civil War. George and Benjamin enlisted together on July 20, 1861 in Olney, Illinois with Company E 11 Missouri Infantry. They were inducted in St. Louis, Missouri and served at Vicksburg and Corinth. Thomas J. enlisted June 25,1861 in Olney, Illinois with Company K 21 Illinois Infantry. He was mustered out July 5, 1864. Catherine is buried in Richland Cemetery, Calhoun, Richland Co., Illinois; she has a memorial.


Benjamin W. Roush m. Anna Jones 1 July 1891 in Moultrie Co., Illinois. Ben was b. 28 Feb. 1870 Olney, Richland Co., Ill. His parents are Benjamin Roush and Mary Mathias [Mathews]. Ida Anna was b. 1870 Moultrie Co. Ill. Her parents are William G. Jones & Sarah Brackney.
