Mrs. Flora D. Ballard

Mrs. Flora D. Ballard, 92 years of age and for most of her life a resident of Cooperstown, died on June 23 at the home of Mrs. Anna Davis after an illness of about three weeks.

Mrs. Ballard was born in Cooperstown on February 26, 1856, the daughter of Leonard and Adeline (Stocking) Jackson. She was married on Christmas Day of 1874 to the late Sanford Ballard, who died January 28, 1933. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Maryland where they spent about 20 years, moving back to Cooperstown.

Mrs. Ballard was a member of the Maryland Christian church and a member of Otsego Chpater Order of Easter Star.

She is survived by three sons, Ellra J. Ballard, Isum Ballard and Harry J. Ballard; two grandchildren, MRs. William G. Tyler and Russel G. Ballard, all of Cooperstown.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 o'clock at the Ingalls Funeral Home, the Rev. Theodore Conklin, pastor of the First Baptist church officiating. Burial will be at the mcKown cemetery, Maryland.
