With loving memory we honor the beautiful, beloved Leah Bamert Hesseltine of Clements, California who passed away after an amazing 100 years of life. She is survived by her three children; Robert (Kendra) Hesseltine, Sharon (Hesseltine) Steed, David (Gina) Hesseltine, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. Preceded in death by Howard Hesseltine, her husband of 54 years. They met when he came to deliver fuel to the ranch. Leah was born on Dec. 6,1913 in Ione, Ca. to Edward T. and Vie Bamert as was her brother Loren Bamert. She went to the Julian School, a one room schoolhouse, by horse and buggy. She graduated from Salem School in Lodi in 1927 and then graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1931. She attended Humphry's College for two years. She worked on the ranch with her father, even driving cattle up Hwy 88 to Hope Valley. Leah loved to travel, loved her coffee, especially loved her family and The Lord. Services will be held at Lodi Funeral Home. Viewing Tues. the 9th noon to 8pm, service Wed. 11am, private internment, celebration of life to follow for all family and friends at St. Joaquim Catholic Church in Lockeford (13392 Lockeford Ranch Rd.) Flowers are welcome but if friends so desire, memorial tributes in Leah's name can be made directly to Grace Church of Lockeford (13301 Dawson Rd, Lockeford, 95237) and the Lodi Memorial Hospital Mission Auxiliary (c/o Gina Hesseltine, P.O Box 129, Wallace, Ca. 95254)
