"John G. McIntyre, a resident of Charlotteville for ten years, died Thursday morning at 6"30, following a week's illness from bronchial pneumonia. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 from Skinner's funeral home in this village, the Rev. Clyde Truax of West Edmeston officiated. Burial in Maple Grove cemetery. Born September 29, 1866 at Gilboa, a son of Tobias and Ophelia (Moon) McIntyre, he married the former Hattie VanBuren at West Jefferson forty-five years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. F. Brownell of Oneonta and Mrs. Loren Mead of Charlotteville; one son, Everett McIntyre of Center Valley; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mr. McIntyre had followed farming all his life and had many friends throughout this vicinity who will sincerely mourn his demise." [The Freeman's Journal (Cooperstown, NY), Jan. 12, 1938, Page 15]
