Dorismae Smith Brown, 87, formerly of Meadville and a current resident of Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, died there Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010.
She was born in Meadville March 29, 1922, a daughter of the late Robert C. and Nina Crain Anderson. She married Earl R. Smith on June 27, 1940; he preceded her in death in 1964. She subsequently married C. Henry Brown on Dec. 13, 1969; he preceded her in death in 1980.
She was a 1940 graduate of Meadville High School and was employed as a bookkeeper at G.C. Murphy Co. She previously worked at the Keystone Ordnance Works, Montgomery Wards, Printz Co. and Singer-Heatrex.
Dorismae was a former long-time member of First Baptist Church and currently was a member of New Beginnings Church of God, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and nursery supervisor.
She was a former member of the Charles Stafford American Legion Post 111 Auxiliary, Meadville Business and Professional Women's Club including being past president, and member of Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed working with ceramics.
Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
