CEDAR BLUFF – Bobbie Jean Jones Arney, 74, passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at her home. She was born March 25, 1938, in Sturgis to Lillie Jane Ray Jones and Wiley Hamilton Jones Jr. She had worked as a sales clerk at Cato Department Store, a designer-florist at West Point Flower Shop and a seamstress at Knickerbocker, MFG. Later she worked as a custodian at Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. She worked on a committee of three to write the history of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church 1895-1995, also serving as church clerk for 19 years, as well as a captain in the Church Bus Ministry Outreach program. She was presently a member of Hope Baptist Church. She was married to Marvin Arney on May 2, 1956, and he preceded her in death on May 31, 2000.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Craig Springs Cemetery Oktibbeha County.

Survivors include her daughter, Tami Arney Edwards (Vernon) of Cedar Bluff; three grandchildren, Traci Jean Ferguson, Diana Marie Ferguson and Jon Austin Ferguson (Alisha); seven great-grandchildren, Brianna Russell, E.J. Ferguson, Kaitlyn Jones, Devin Jones, Tristan Eggerson, Cheyanne Ferguson and Harbor Ferguson and the extended family; one sister, Lavis Coggins (Sonny) of Starkville; her brother, Willie W. "Peck" Jones (Pat) of Starkville.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her grandson, Troy Eggerson; and sister, Lecter Mae Boswell.

Pallbearers will be deacons of the church, Jim Bearden, Ricky Blake, Jimmy Edwards, Lynwood Hill, Rodney Johnson, Keith Manning, Ray Pumphrey, Rocky Wooten. Honorary pallbearers will be Jon Austin Ferguson, Clyde Edwards, John Edwards, Zachary Edwards, Billy Bennett and her friends at Hope Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to The Gideons International, P. O. Box 661, West Point, MS 39773.

Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Calvert Funeral Home.
