Funeral services for Hubert "Stanley" Eddins, age 77, of Concord, will be held at 2 P.M., Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Rev. Billy Bob Evans will officiate the service and interment, with military honors provided by the United States Navy, will follow in the Concord Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Thursday, December 26th at the Walters Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be T.J. Foley, Steven Foley, Nathan Simecek, Micah Simecek, P.J. Simecek, Thomas Allen Haynie, Scott Noey, Denny Payne and Cameron Runnels.

Stanley Eddins was born on December 21, 1936 in Concord, Texas to William T. & Willie Mae (Haynie) Eddins. He was a graduate of Centerville High School and a retiree of the United States Navy. In 1978, after his service in the Navy, Stanley moved back to Concord and began work for Centerville ISD. He worked for another twenty years as a custodian until he retired a second time. Stanley loved to ranch and loved tending to his roses and the garden. He was a Christian. Stanley passed away just one day after his 77th birthday on December 22, 2013. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, Inez Eddins; sister, Mary Jo Rougeou and infant brother and sister, William "Peck" & Verna Joy Eddins.

Surviving family includes sister & brother-in-law, Myrna & Joe Brown of Thornton; niece, Deborah Simecek & husband, Larry of Deer Park; great nephews, P.J. Nathan & Micah Simecek of Deer Park; great, great nieces, Riley, Ansley & Macie Simecek of Deer Park; friend, companion and caregiver for many years, Tina Runnels and four special women who were like sisters to Stanley, Peggy Bell, Rita Payne, Linda Noey and Peggy Easterling. He is also survived by several special children who were considered as grandchildren, Carla, T.J., Carmen & Steven Foley and Katie & Cameron Runnels.

Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas is in charge of all arrangements
