Doreen A. Lahey, age 75, of 1485 No 7th Street, Manitowoc, died Monday evening, October 14, 2013, at Aurora Medical Center, Manitowoc County. Doreen was born January 1, 1938 (first baby of the year) in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Edward and Stella (Zentner) Lahey. She was a graduate of Washington High School with the class of 1956. Doreen worked as a clerical assistant throughout her working years. After graduating from high school, she was employed at Mirro Aluminum-Plant 1 in the office for 18 ½ years. She also worked at Calvary Chapel Mausoleum as a Secretary and Bookkeeper. Doreen also worked with the "Senior Aide" Program. She enjoyed spending many years teaching religion classes to children along with volunteering as a Reading Aide. Doreen was affectionately known as "Huz" to her loving family. Survivors include two nephews: two grand nephews and one grand niece; who have been a very special part of Doreen's life; and a good friend, Joanne. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Yelmene. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013, at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ in Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Kim Henning. Burial will be at Forest View Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, October 18, 2013, at church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.kleinandstangel.com.
