Virginia H. Allison, age 73 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013.

She was a retired RN from Blount Memorial Hospital after 33 years of service and retired from B.C.S.O. September 30, 2011. She was an active member of RIO East Church of God, where she spent the last years serving in the ministries of the Church, she was a Lay Minister for Morningview Home Ministry.

Virginia was extremely involved in Maryville-Alcoa Civitan Club, even being a founder of Airport Civitan. She served as Appalachian District governor from 1992-1993, she volunteered many years with Special Olympics, and The Fraternal Order of Police Youth Camp. After her retirement, she enjoyed reading, fishing and serving area Churches.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George "Bud" Allison, Jr.; grandson, Michael Allison; parents, Walter James and Irene Altum Hampton; brother, Walter Hampton.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Linda Allison; grandchildren, Greg Allison, Jason Freeman and Jennifer Wickings; great grandchild, Jacob Wickings; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and J. W. Richardson; sister, Kitty Hampton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Ann Allison; extended family, Tony and Phyllis Crisp, Charlie and Betty Ashworth, Capt. Jeff Birchfield, Chief Ron Dunn and Sheree and Wilford Moody.

Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Buchanan and Rev. Ronnie Hepperly officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Sherwood Memorial Mausoleum Chapel for the entombment service. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. Active Pall Bearers will be the Fraternal Order of Police.
