He was a retired lieutenant colonel of the U.S. Marine Corps with 27 years of service to our country. He was employed as a first officer for American Airlines, flying the McDonnell Douglas Super 80.
He is survived by his wife and their three daughters, Aimee, Roxanne and Erin, and their son, Jack Almendinger; his mother, Gladys Bonjour Almendinger; two sisters, Roxanne and Lisa Almendinger; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Matt Almendinger and Scott and Stacy Almendinger.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Merton Almendinger.
Burial in church cemetery with full military honors.
