The husband of Kim Myhand Almendinger, died unexpectedly in Las Vegas. He was born in Freeport, Ill., and had lived in Warren, Ill. He and his family resided in Southlake, Texas.

He was a retired lieutenant colonel of the U.S. Marine Corps with 27 years of service to our country. He was employed as a first officer for American Airlines, flying the McDonnell Douglas Super 80.

He is survived by his wife and their three daughters, Aimee, Roxanne and Erin, and their son, Jack Almendinger; his mother, Gladys Bonjour Almendinger; two sisters, Roxanne and Lisa Almendinger; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Matt Almendinger and Scott and Stacy Almendinger.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Merton Almendinger.

Burial in church cemetery with full military honors.
