William Lindsay Farrar, 90, of Sparta, died June 30 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 15, 1914, in Owen County, he was the son of the late Ira and Floretta Furnish, was a retired farmer, a member of the Sparta Christian Church and a Kentucky Colonel.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia D. Chowning Farrar; three sons, Richard W. Farrar, James Linley Farrar and William Robert Farrar, all of Sanders; one sister, Alene Biggs of Owenton; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday at McDonald & New Funeral Homes with Bro. David Wotier officiating.
Burial was in the Paint Lick Baptist Church Cemetery.
Bearers were Jim Farrar, Willie Farrar, Robert "Bubby" Farrar, Michael Todd Farrar, Richard Farrar II and Michael Shawn Farrar.
