"Mrs. Catherine Ashley, 83, former Pulaski County resident, died Thursday at the home of her son, Will Ashley, near Stanford, following a lingering illness. She was born in Pulaski County Feb. 27, 1859, and lived practically her entire life in this county. She was a good, Christian woman, active in the Baptist Church, of which she was a member, and a loving and devoted wife and mother. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, the Rev. W.W. McAlpin officiating. Interment was in the Vaught Cemetery at Camp Ground. Besides her son, Mrs. Ashley is survived by a daughter, Mrs. P.B. Wesley, Pleasant Hill; a brother, Henry Copenhaver, Fowler, Ind., and a sister who resides in Indiana."
