Born in either Pike or Carroll County, Georgia. Son of Benjamin & Martha (McGINTY) BORDERS. Not known to have married or had issue.
Enlisted 01 JUL 1862 as a Private under Captain Labon J. SMITH in Company F "Iverson Invincibles" (Carroll County, Georgia), 7th Regiment, Georgia Infantry, Army of Northern Virginia, CSA. Sent to hospital 17 AUG 1862. Died 19 AUG 1862 at Warwick House in Virginia. Buried in plot #10, 3rd Line, Lot 177, Confederate Cemetery at Lynchburg, Virginia.
Also serving in this company were Michael's brother, Burrell BORDERS, and their brother-in-law, William W. ADERHOLD, first husband of Michael's sister, Martha Catherine (BORDERS) ADERHOLD GLADNEY.
