She was born January 20, 1922 to William and Agnes (White) Morber in Gorham. She married Clarence "Spider" Ihle on November 3, 1943. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2001.
Thelma's greatest joy was being with her family. She worked at various jobs in the Murphysboro area. She attended St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Murphysboro. She loved country music and watching game shows.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Marsha (Jack) Pieron of Murphysboro; Marilyn (John) Wittrock of Union, MO; and Cheryl (Steven) Piltz of Broken Arrow, OK; 2 grandsons, Shawn Wittrock of Union, MO and Daniel Piltz of Broken Arrow, OK; a great-granddaughter, Casey Pieron of Carbondale; 2 half-sisters, Barbara Crombar of Murphysboro and Betty Frank of Lake Butler, FL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Spider" Ihle; a grandson, Brad Pieron; and 2 brothers, George "Corky" Morber and Melvin "Coogan" Morber.
Graveside services for Thelma R. Ihle will be private. Memorials can be made to St. Peter's United Church of Christ and will be accepted at the funeral home.
