Mrs. F.W. Fowler Dies on a Visit to Daughter's Home
Kate Sibley Fowler.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kate Sibley Fowler, widow of Frederick W. Fowler, who died yesterday morning of heart trouble at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Francis Heald, in Cedar Rapids, will be held here Thursday afternoon at the home of her other daughter, Mrs. Cole McMartin, 527 West Twenty-Ninth Street. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Mrs. Fowler was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Sibley. Mrs. Sibley is at present visiting the home of her son, John D. Sibley, in California. She was born in 1856 in Lake Geneva, Wis., and was graduated from West High and attended Grinnell College. After her marriage in 1878 Mrs. Fowler became identified with church and club circles, joining the Plymouth Congressional Church and the Pioneer Group of the Des Moines Women's Club.
Following the death of her husband in 1916, Mrs. Fowler took active charge of the F.W. Fowler Wholesale Hay Company, which she continued until her illness last autumn.
