Mr. Pine was born Sept. 24, 1926, in Castle Rock and lived in the Vancouver area the past 44 years. He worked for the city of Vancouver 33 years before retiring in 1990. He was a Little League coach. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was an avid golfer and hunter. Mr. Pine was an Army veteran of World War II.
A son, David Glen, died in 1953.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Emma H., at home; one daughter, Carol Rigot of Castle Rock; three sons, Robert of Sumner and Michael L. and Steve, both of Vancouver; one sister, Marie E. Harvey of Vancouver; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
