"Obituary -- Wm. H. Ely
William H. Ely who died at Blissfield April 21, was born in Fulton county, O., April 10, 1852. He was one of a family of five brothers and five sisters, of whom two brothers and two sisters survive. He grew up in Ohio, and September 26, 1872, he married Miss Lovina Lehman. To this union were born one son and two daughters.
In 1902 with his family he removed to Blissfield and there remained until death. When 19 years of age he confessed his allegiance to the Lord Jesus Christ and entered the Baptist church. Twenty-five years ago he became identified with the United Brethren church at Winameg, Ohio, and two years ago joined the Blissfield United Brethren church. His reputation for honesty, industry and sincerity was excellent.
His health had been declining since last fall, his ailment being a hardening of the liver. He was patient in his affliction, and though the death summons came in an unlooked for hour, he was ready.
The funeral services were held at the Blissfield United Brethren church Wednesday at 2 p. m., conducted by his pastor, Rev. W. H. Clay. Burial in Blissfield cemetery."
