When he was eight, the family moved to a farm north of Blair when he farmed and continued to live for his entire life.
He married the love of his life, Helen Johnson, on Dec. 15, 1945. They just celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. Anyone who met them knew without a doubt that they adored each other and their marriage was a testament of true love.
Jim Juul, 89, of Blair, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Helen Juul, of Blair; daughters Jeanne Juul of Omaha and Barbara (Ron) Lau of Omaha; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Karyn (Jimmy) Lomax, Sienna Lau, Dreyson Scott (Katherine) Lau, Regan, Sayer and Mark (Alice) Lau, and Sophia; his brother-in-law Glenn (Faye) Johnson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents who came to America in 1910 from Denmark; his brother, Rudy (Norma) Juul; and his sisters, Ella (John) Biffar and Viola (Donald) Petersen.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday at 3 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m.
