GREENFIELD - Leona T. (Kikoski) Anderson, 84, of Greenfield, died on Monday, December 9, 2013, at Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
Born on Jan. 26, 1929 in Hatfield, she was the daughter of John and Anne (Bubrowski) Kikoski. She was a 1946 graduate of Greenfield High School.
On Sept. 16, 1972, she was married to A. Gordon Anderson, who predeceased her on Dec. 20, 2006.
Leona was a teller at the former Franklin County Bank and Trust Co. and other local banks, and worked for a time at Eaglebrook School.
She was a member of the former Sacred Heart Church and its Ladies' Guild, and a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, knitting and quilting. She was a volunteer in patient registration at Baystate Franklin Medical Center and a member of a group of close-knit friends called the ""Outing Club.""
Survivors include her sister, Helen Podlesny of Greenfield; her brother, John F. Kikoski and his wife Catherine of W. Hartford, CT. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their spouses: Karen Erman and her husband William of S. Deerfield, Steven P. Podlesny and his wife Michele of Turners Falls, Mary Jane Gasdia and her husband Dominic of Wakefield, Jennifer Podlesny of Blaine, MN, John N. Kikoski and his wife Margaret of New York, NY, Andre Kikoski of New York, NY, and Nicole Maio and her husband Alan of Chicago, IL. She also leaves many grandnieces and grandnephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a nephew, Henry J. Podlesny on May 3, 2008.
There will be a time of visitation on Monday (12-23-13) from 9 to 10 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 14 High St., Greenfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh St., Turners Falls. Burial will be private at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Franklin County, 329 Conway St., Suite 2, Greenfield, MA 01301.
