Leo worked for Bovey Shute Lumber Co. in Makoti and the Piper-Howe Lumber in Garrison. In 1924 moved to Minot where Leo entered the Federal Civil Service, serving for thirty-four years in the Minot office advancing from clerk to Postmaster.
Leo served his country overseas in World War I in Co. H-362nd Infantry
