Obituary Bismarck Tribune (Oct 27, 2012)
Mable L. Bauer, 78, Mandan, died Oct. 26, 2012, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Tim Jenks officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Graceland Cemetery, New Salem.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Mable Bauer was born in Judson, on Aug. 7, 1934, to Fred and Louise (Hanson) Sack. She was raised in the Judson area. She married Elmer T. Bauer on Feb. 28, 1954, in New Salem. They lived in Bismarck and Mable continued to work (as a secretary and model) at the AW Lucas Department Store until she and Elmer moved to Longview, Wash., for two years. Elmer and Mable returned to New Salem to pursue their life's career of farming. While living in the New Salem area, Mable dedicated her life to family, community and church. She was a leader in her kid's 4-H Club, and a teacher at Vacation Bible School and Sunday school. Mable had a knack for creatively making memories with her family such as picnics in the pasture, fishing trips and special birthday parties. Mable loved nature and her appreciation for it was displayed in the large vegetable and flower gardens she grew. Mable was an avid reader and a favorite pastime of hers was watching the finches outside her dining room windows. After retiring, she and Elmer traveled throughout the western United States in their 5th wheeler, spending three winters in Arizona. They moved to Mandan in 2008.

Mable will be greatly missed by her daughters, Theresa (Michael) Brockman, Hutchinson, Kan., Deborah (Daniel) Bueligen, New Salem, and Cheryl (Steve) Peltz, Denver; her sons, Donavon (Barbara), Mandan, and Douglas (DeLana), Billings, Mont.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Beryl (Durwood) Toepke, New Salem; and brother, Fred (Mary) Sack, Somerset, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Richard (Margie) Sack.
