The members of Windsor Heights Lutheran Church invite you to a service of rememberance for their sister in Christ, Sandra West.

She attended Colfax Schools. On November 11, 1961 at Methodist Church in Colfax, Iowa, she married childhood sweetheart, Monty Ray Barnes. To this marriage was born twins, Dalena and Diana and a son Dale.

Monty passed away prematurely of cancer. On beggar's night of 1978, she met Dave West. They immediately knew they would spend the rest of their lives together. She took over as mother to Heather, Ryan and Damian West and treated them as her own.

Sandy married Dave West on August 11, 1979 at Windsor Heights Lutheran Church.
Sandy and Dave enjoyed vacationing together; sometimes taking as many as 5 vacations in a year and throughout their marriage had periods of extreme poverty and extreme prosperity. Together, they bought and sold 20 thousand cars and 200 properties. Much of this time, she worked a full time job plus helped with the family business. Besides all this work, Sandy and Dave, bought the John Thompson mansion on the east side and have been restoring it. It is still a work in progress.

Sandy was a kind, generous person that would directly help the poor, even to the point of making herself poor.

Sandra is survived by her loving husband, Dave. Her daughters Dalena (Don) Lewis, Diana (Roger) Smith, Dale (Karla) Barnes, Heather (Matt) Therkelsen, Ryan (Robin) West, Damian (Sara) West. Her sister, Linda (Frank) Logan, father and mother in law, Frank (Jean) West. Special sister in laws and brother in laws Sally (Bruce) Hink and Kim (Joe) Evans. 14 Grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and special friend Barb Clark. And many loving friends and relatives. She will be dearly missed by her dog, Peggy Sue. She loved everyone dearly.
