Dr. Lucius Robuck Burch, Jr., age 74, of Eastman, GA, passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 in his home near Eastman, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, December 16, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Buck Burch and Dr. Jarrett Burch officiating, with interment in Robuck Burch Family Cemetery, with Rev. Jack Lee and Dr. Billy Lee officiating.

Dr. Burch, the son of Robuck, Sr. and Mary H. Burch, served as pastor of 19 churches over 53 years, with six churches being in Dodge County. He was educated at Mercer University, Southwestern Seminary, New Orleans Seminary, and the University of South Africa. He served as Bible Professor at Brewton-Parker College, Tift College and Luther Rice Seminary for eighteen years. Calvary Baptist Church was his last church, founded as a new church.

His hobbies included planting trees and flowers, playing with his grandchildren, and discussing the Bible. He led his life as a prophet, whose whole allegiance was God's word. His last words had Jesus on them and he left this world knowing that his hertage knew the Savior.

Survivors: Wife of 46 years - Mary Lou Holdway Burch of Eastman; 2 Daughters - Melissa Furno (Stephen) of Yadkinville, NC and Tanya Castillo (Raul) of Allen, TX; 2 Sons - Rev. Buck Burch (Leslie) of Loganville and Dr. Jarrett Burch of Eastman; Sister - Mary Elaine Bowman of Jeffersonville; 10 Grandchildren - Ashlyn Burch, Amielle Burch, Luke Burch, Dakota Furno, Christian Furno, Elijah Furno, Katie Furno, Logan Castillo, Braeden Castillo and Annabelle Castillo; Nephew - James Albert Bowman, Jr. of Columbia, SC.

The family may be contacted at the Burch residence, 404 Benevolence Road, Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 5:00PM-7:00PM, Sunday, December 15. In addition to flowers, the family requests donations be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC, 28607.
