Cultural Figure and Antifascist Fighter. He was born in Segorbe (Castellón, Comunidad Valenciana) and died in Paris (France). He was a capital figure of Spanish exile and in the fight against Franco's dictartorship. He moved to Barcelona in 1929 where he worked in the library of Ateneo Enciclopédico Popular. In 1939, he was forced to exile and moved to Paris. There, he founded the Economic and Social Works Center. But he is remembered for his Librairie Espagnol of Paris, opened in 1954, that become the center of reunion of exiled spanish writers. In 1994, he received the León Felipe award and in 1995, the Medal of Civil Rights.
