Professional Football Player. For six seasons (1969 to 1974), he played at the center and linebacker positions in the National Football League with the Washington Redskins and New Orleans Saints. Born John Lawrence Didion, he attended Woodland High School in California and played collegiate football at Oregon State University. He distinguished himself, when he achieved consensus All-American honors. Selected by the Redskins during the 7th round of the 1969 NFL Draft, he played in 80 career regular season games. Additionally, he yielded a four season streak of playing in every game (1971 to 1974). Following his retirement from football, he went on to a lengthy career in law enforcement. He is a member of the Oregon State University Athletic Hall of Fame. (bio by: C.S.)
