Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home, Earlville, IL - Harold E. Olsen, 82, of Lake Holiday, Sandwich, IL formerly of Earlville, IL passed away, Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in Jabez Elder Care, Somonauk, IL. He was born August 26, 1929 in Chicago, IL the son of Martin and Theoline (Stangeland) Olsen. He married Elaine Anderson on February 20, 1955 in Buda, IL. Harold was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville, where he served on the church council, a fifty year member of The Earlville American Legion where he was past Commander, former member of the Earlville Country Club, Masonic Lodge, enjoyed all sports and bowling. He farmed in the Earlville area his entire life, was a Moews Seed Corn Dealer for several years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Best known to his friends as "OLE".

He is survived by one daughter, Jean Slott of Batavia, IL; two sons, Robert and Glen Olsen, both of Earlville; two grandchildren, Jessica and Jake Slott of Batavia; one sister, Avis Rosenow of Tampico, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elaine in 2011.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville, IL with Rev. Tammy S. Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Precinct Cemetery rural Earlville. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2012 at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville, IL.
