Funeral services for Rachael LaNelle "Nannie" Owens, 69, of Bonham, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1139 S. State Hwy 121, Trenton, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Bro Shawn Wilkerson will officiate. Burial will follow in Willow Wild Cemetery. Rachael passed away Monday morning, Dec. 9, 2013 at her residence.

Rachel was born Nov. 20, 1944 in Bonham, Texas, the daughter of David Rubert Vaughn and Dorothy Lucille Oakley Vaughn. She was a graduate of Anton High School and studied Interior Design at Grayson County College. She married Wyman Henry Owens, Jr. on July 13, 1962 in Anton, Texas, and he preceded her in death Sept. 30, 2007. Rachael was a seamstress in the upholstery business which she owned with her husband and a rural mail carrier for the US Postal Service. She was a member of the Rural Letter Carriers Union 1982 – 2010. Rachael was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Trenton. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Owens in 2008, her parents and three brothers, David Vaughn, Michael Vaughn and Larry Vaughn.

Rachael is survived by five sons, Mark Owens and wife, Kelley of Bonham, Texas, Dennis Owens of Waco, Texas, Michael Owens and wife, Kerri of Caddo Mills, Texas, Craig Owens and wife, Donna of California and Reginald Smedley and wife, Julie; two sisters, Pat Clifton of Bonham, Texas and Joyce Boehler of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; twenty grandchildren, Brian Owens, Shannon Ortiz, Sheena Owens, Nick Clopton, Tracy Owens, Tiffany Owens, Aliesha Schulze, Laci Joines Fowler, Caitlin Owens, Kelsi Owens, Shiniese Owens, Keagan Owens, James Owens, Samuel Owens, Elizabeth Owens, Joshua Owens, Matthew Owens, Cassidy Owens, Mei Takigawa and Airu Honda; twelve great grandchildren, Caitlyn Slinkard, Rylee Owens, Melaea Owens, Gabe Ortiz, Sarah Ortiz, Makayla Owens, Christopher Owens, Trinity Simon, Amber Clopton, Jayna Fowler, Anna Schulze and Mason Owens; a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.
