RICHLAND CENTER - Elizabeth Sippy Spangler, age 103, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, who was born Aug. 7, 1910, in Neptune, Wis., to E.A. Sippy and Elizabeth Scholl Sippy died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Harvest Guest Home.

Elizabeth taught elementary school in Zion, Ill., and later Oregon, Wis. She loved to travel and visited many countries and instilled in her family the love of learning about other cultures. In 2001 Elizabeth moved to Richland Center, and in 2007 to Harvest Guest Home.

Elizabeth is survived by two daughters, Beverly (Roger) McCumber of Minnetonka, Minn., Shirley (Richard) Steiner of Richland Center; four granddaughters, Christine (Rick) VanNess, Amy (Bart Bakker) McCumber, Janet (Rob) Stevens, Jill (Doug) Sommer; five great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Lorene Sippy of Arizona, Ruth Spangler of Viola, Wis.; numerous nieces, and nephews. Elizabeth was preceded in her death by her husband, S. Herbert Spangler in 1959.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the TRINITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH with Pastor Bill Busch officiating. Private family burial will be held at the Bloom City Cemetery at the later date. Friends may call at the TRINITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH from 1 p.m. until the time of the services at 2 p.m. The family suggests memorials be given to an organization of your choice.
