FLACK - David Flack, a former resident of Bellefonte, died at his home at Media last Saturday morning, after only three days illness as the result of a stroke.
Deceased was born at Howard and was in his sixty-fifth year. His parents moved to Bellefonte when he was a boy and when he grew to manhood he secured employment at the Valentine Iron company. Eleven years ago he moved to Philadelphia and accepted a position in Gimbel's store where he remained until four years ago when he moved to Media and worked for the Media Titleand Trust company.
His wife was Miss Susan Housel and she survives with the following children: William P., Elizabeth and Winifred, all of Media; Thomas B. and Mrs. D. [Mary] Oliver Hazel, of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Ross [Sarah] Fiscus, of Atlantic City. He also leaves the following brother and sisters: William, George and Harry Flack; Mrs. Mary Hull, Mrs. Harold [sic - actually Harland] Saylor and Miss Kate Flack, all of Bellefonte. Burial was made at Media on Tuesday.
On Friday, 14 Aug 1914, "last Saturday morning" would have been 8 Aug 1914. If, as reported in the 1900 census, he was born in March 1850, he would have been only 64, not 65 as mentioned above.
