Eva M. Jones was born August 24, 1898, at Armour, S.D. to Henry and Florence Wenzel. She died in Seattle, Wash., at the age of 83 years, 7 months, and two days.

She spent her youth on a farm in Anina Township and attended Wessington Springs Seminary.

On October 8, 1916, she was united in marriage to Elmer L. Keyser. To this union six children were born. They farmed in Jerauld County and Beadle County. In September, 1924, Elmer passed away and she returned with her children to Wessington Springs.

In June, 1930, she was united in marriage to Jack Jones. They lived in and around Wessington Springs farming and in the restaurant business until 1951, when they retired, making their home in Seattle, Wash., and spending their winters in California.

In Wessington Springs, she was active in the Royal Neighbors and was a Gold Star Mother of the American Legion post here.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a son, Glenn, killed in action in Normandy, Frace, June, 1944; 1 grandson, Elmer Keyser, and two brothers, William and Joe Wenzel; and a great grandson.

She is survived by her five children; Velma Albecht of Seattle, Vearl (Buck) Keyser of Gann Valley, S.D.; Lloyd of Gordon, Neb.; Mrs. Joe (Jean) Amador of Seattle; and Mrs. Leo (Orpha) McGowan of Santa Maria, Calif.; one stepson, Lester Jones of spring Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Matie Crist of Miller, S.D.; and Mrs. Gene (Clara) Rasmussen, Rapid City; five brothers, Gilbert of Palm Springs, Calif., Sandy Wenzel of Saskatchewan, Canada; Harold, Donald L. and Arthur Wenzel of the Wessington Springs area; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 31, at the United Methodist Church in Wessington Springs. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Wessington Springs.
