Lorenzo Baird "L.B. (Ren)" Kofoed, 97, of Annis, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at his home.

He was born February 2, 1916, in Weston, Idaho to Clarence Henry Kofoed and Grace Amelia Baird Kofoed. He graduated High School in Weston, Idaho and then received his Bachelors degree from Ricks College and Masters Degree from Utah State University. He served in World War II as an airplane mechanic. Ren served in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algers, Sicily and Italy.

He married Ardis Shaw on May 5, 1946 in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple March 11, 1959.

In the Great Depression, he worked in the Civil Conservation Corp building bridges and roads in Yellowstone Park. Ren was employed as a cab driver, a cook, an elementary school teacher, and Supervisor of Schools. He taught Industrial Arts in Ashton High School. He worked as a Clinical Psychologist in private practice and in school systems. He was also a hypnotherapist. He enjoyed jewelry making and lapidary, leather work, carving, and fly tying. He truly loved fly fishing and hunting. Ren was an excellent cook and he even canned his own jars of wonderful dill pickles.

He was an active member of the LDS Church serving as a temple worker and teacher. He held the office of High Priest.

He is survived by his daughter Carolyn (Cory) Jones of Rigby, three sons, Wayne Kofoed of Arlington, Texas, Robert (Terri) Kofoed of Flower Mound, Texas and Reed (Carmen) Kofoed of Winnemucca, Nevada, one sister Norma (Calvin) of Pahrump, Nevada and a brother Lyle (Bobby) of Green River, Wyoming, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ardis, his parents, four sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Menan LDS Stake Center; 698 N. 3600 E., Menan. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Friday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Cache Clawson Cemetery in Tetonia, Teton, Idaho. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
