"Zearing Enterprise:...Died, Monday morning, at four o'clock Mrs. Catharine Grim, of paralysis, aged 72 years, 11 months, and 11 days. She was the mother of A. H. Grim living 2 1/2 miles north-east of Zearing, and was an old lady that was well thought of and highly respected by all who knew her."
Catharine was the daughter of Jochim Hinrich Scheichting and Catharina Christina (maiden name unknown). She married Claus Hinrich/Henry Grimm, a shoemaker, on August 11, 1849, at Curau, Oldenburg, Deutschland (German). To this union three children are known to have been born:
1) August Henry Grimm (12 Sep 1849-2 Apr 1922, buried in Zearing)
2) Caroline "Carrie" Maria Grimm (Mrs. Frank H. Stahley)
3) Emma Grimm (born about 1859)
Catharine and Claus also raised their niece, Anna Elizabeth Grimm (Mrs. Andrew Abbott) (26 Mar 1867-16 Feb 1953).
