Francis was the oldest son of Patrick and Mary Sullivan McNamara.
He had 3 brothers, Edward, Richard Lawrence, Walter J, and a little sister named Rose.

He served in WW1, He was in the 56th Engineers, whose motto was "to build and to fight." They were deployed to Noiser, France, built roads, airfields and bridges, laid mines . He came home om the troop transport ship USS Nansemond leaving 25 Febuary 1919 from St Nazaire, France They were demobilized at Camp Merritt new Jersey on July 7th, 1919.

Francis sent a postcard from France to his future wife Jane Neely. (See the photo section.) but it took him another 3 years or so to marry her.

In the 1920 census he's listed as working as a Boiler Inspector for the county. His dad Patrick was a boilermaker.
He was still living at home in the 1920 census, so he was not married yet at age 27. His first child, Billy, was born in 1921 so he must have married around age 28.

When he finally married Jane C. Neely, they had children Billy, Mary Dorothy # 83136927 , Robert Louis, and twins Frank and Jane Elizabeth.

His oldest son Billy was killed in a sledding accident at age 5 in 1927. Three years later Francis also died much too young, at age 37 on October 21rst, 1930, just 4 days before his birthday.

His Death Certificate lists 2 residences, but 450 Lincoln ave is and I think was the Knights Of Columbus, in which his family was very active. I think he had a stroke there and they carried him home to die at 665 Shade Ave.
