Hiram W. Sloan, 75, died at his home one and one-half miles northwest of Stillwater, Ok., Tuesday evening, March 5, 1935. Funeral services were held at Strode Funeral home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. T.S. Stockton officiating. Burial was at Fairlawn cemetery, under direction of the Strode Funeral home.
Hiram W. Sloan was born in Fannin county, Texas, February 8, 1860. He was married to Clara Eva Richards on March 13, 1883, at Berryville, Ark. They moved to Indian Territory and settled in Kiowa county, moving to the present home in 1921.
Decedent leaves his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Essie Martin, Stillwater, three sons, Orville Sloan, Clyde Sloan and Fay Sloan, all of Stillwater; two brothers, F.M. Sloan, Waurika, and D.P. Sloan, Hartington, Neb., and nineteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
